Reconstruction & Trauma

Facial reconstruction caused by birth defects, disease or accidents requires the expert hands of an experienced and highly trained surgeon. Dr. Wheeler IV is one. Listed below are some of the procedures he is qualified to perform.

Scar Revisions

Scarring occurs when multiple layers of skin are damaged from wounds, burns, surgery, acne or many other causes. Learn more about how Dr. Wheeler can make those scars less visible. Learn more about this procedure.

Facial paralysis

This surgery requires not only restoring as much facial mobility as possible, but also facial plastic surgery to achieve symmetry in the facial features.

Facial trauma Reconstruction

Trauma can be caused by a variety of circumstances from accidents to animal bites. Just as the causes are many, so are the procedures to correct the damage. Bone segments in the forehead, cheek, brow or jaw line may need to be realigned to promote proper healing. Traumatic facial lacerations may cause scarring, nerve damage and injury to salivary glands or tear ducts. Some of these complications can be minimized or repaired with Dr. Wheeler’s expertise.
